Review - Chaat Bazaar

Its Saturday today. I was getting bored with the work. I decided to make the time more productive and started thinking of a place to go for lunch. Luckily, a delicious looking ad popped up on one of the web pages I was browsing through. I would have thought twice for clicking any such ads, but I ended up by just clicking it as the ad was very tempting. The ad landed me in a website page, which was offering me a "buy one get one" deal for an extra cost of Rs.25. I thought about it twice, as I dont wanna get cheated by the money pulling online scams, and after due diligence I paid the money, got the deal and even called the restaurant to check if the deal was true. As i usually don't have the mood to go to any restaurant alone, I called my friend and told her to accompany me.

My stomach started yelling at me and reminding me that it needs food. So I had to listen to my stomach and so I closed the files I was working on and did shut down the laptop and started immediately to the restaurant.

OK. lemme tell you about the restaurant. Chaat Bazaar, this is the same place I see almost every day on my way home. I had always wanted to check this place out, but ironically I tend to remember only after crossing that place. The restaurant sports pictures of delicious looking chats right from the hoarding to the doors.

When I entered the restaurant, I was welcomed by the walls that was holding photographs taken from different walks of life. These photographs had life in them and gave a different essence to the place.

We sat in a place near the window overlooking the road. We are served with a glass of cold buttermilk with chaas. I am a big time fan of buttermilk. So I found it so refreshing for the scorching heat. Next came the special thali. The thali looked exactly the same as the picture. Being in marketing, nd having an eagle's eye for marketing gimmicks, I was in a surprise to find the similar looking thali as it was in the picture.

The Kulcha was soft and when I had a bite after dipping it in the paneer butter masala and took a bite, man, I should say it was delicious. The dhal was bland but chaat flavor of it made me give a try. I do not try green mutter usually, but the way the mutter masala was garnished, I thought of giving it  try too and wow, it was good too. The potato masala was little spicy, and it saved me in balancing the naan and rice with its spicyness. Rice cooked with pudina was totally dry and I had with use dahi and paneer to make it satisfy my taste buds.  The  Dahi boondi was tasted nice and not very katta. The chaat masala was a part of almost all dishes. I thought it should be because of the restaurants name " Chaat Bazzar",  The final and the major attraction was the gulab jamun. I am not a sweet addict but still could not keep my spoon of it. The sweet was too sweet.

I should say that I enjoyed the lunch. Its worth the bucks. And I considered myself to be a double lucky guy because of "the buy one get one free" offer.
